The basics, set up properly

What every trade needs to look the part and be easy to reach. Set up for you and looked after afterwards.

Your own domain

yourname.co.uk, registered, renewed and pointed at everything else.

Business email

you@ and quotes@ on your domain, so quotes and invoices land in the inbox, not spam.

One business number

Rings your mobile and the van, your existing number moved across if you have one.

A website that brings work

Your photos, your area and a quote form, kept up to date by you or by us.

What it could look like for you

Three examples, using made-up businesses, of what we'd set up for a trade.

Example · a plumber

A WhatsApp number that books the jobs

Customers message when it suits them, often in the evening. The assistant replies straight away in your words, asks what a plumber needs to know, offers real slots from your diary and books one.

  • Asks the questions you would: is it leaking, is there heating, where is it
  • Offers times from your diary, never ones you can't do
  • Sends you a summary with the parts to bring
  • Anything urgent goes straight to you, with safety advice to the customer first

Boiler losing pressure, dripping tap

Bring: tap washers and cartridge, filling loop key, pressure gauge. Boiler still heating, so not urgent.

Water through a ceiling? The customer is told how to turn off the stopcock, and Dan's mobile rings straight away.
Example · an electrician

A phone that answers when you can't

Your business number rings you and the van first. If nobody can pick up, the assistant answers in a natural voice, asks the safety questions, books a callback or a visit and texts the caller to confirm.

  • No more voicemail, and no more lost jobs to whoever answered first
  • Safety first: anything burning or hot is put straight through
  • A summary by email, with the call to play back
  • Sales calls politely turned away

Enquiries in, every job on one board

Quote requests come in from the website with photos. A proper reply goes out in minutes with the questions that matter and times for a site visit. Every job then sits on one board, from first message to final invoice.

  • A quote form on your website that asks for photos
  • A reply in your words, with a site visit booked straight into your diary
  • Every enquiry, call and message on one board, on your phone on site
  • Reminders when a quote's gone quiet or an invoice is waiting

You stay in charge

The assistant works to your rules, not the other way round.

  • In your words. It answers the way you would, from what you tell us about your work and your prices.
  • Only what you allow. It books the slots you open and never agrees a price you haven't set.
  • Urgent comes to you. Emergencies, complaints and anything it isn't sure about go straight to you.
  • Yours to keep. Your number, your domain and your customers' details stay yours.

One monthly price with nothing to pay upfront, like everything else we do. See the packages.

Questions trades ask

Will customers know it's an assistant?

Yes. It says so when it introduces itself. Most people care more about getting an answer and a time than about who books it.

Can I keep my mobile number?

Yes. Your existing number can be moved across to the business line, or you can keep your mobile private and give customers the business number.

What if it gets something wrong?

Every conversation is written down and sent to you, so you can see exactly what was said, and we tune it to your work as we go.

Do I need all of it?

No. Start with what you need most, the WhatsApp number or the phone line, and add the website or the jobs board later.

Spend the day working, not on the phone.
